Process Simulate Virtual Commissioning Training

This course focuses on enhancing users’ skills in Virtual Commissioning using Siemens Process SimulateIt is designed for participants who have completed the Process Simulate Essentials course or possess equivalent experience. 

 

Course Overview

The course introduces key Virtual Commissioning features, including integration with PLCSIM Advanced, signal export/import and mapping, and using PLCs to control resource positions and motions. Additionally, participants will receive an overview of Fanuc Robot Backup loading and the Safety Robots Manager. Essential topics such as signal control and robot programming, previously covered in the Essentials training, will be revisited to reinforce understanding. After completing this trainingparticipants will be equipped to perform Virtual Commissioning effectively within Process Simulate. 

 

Prerequisites

  • Basic computer skills: Windows OS, MS-Office, Internet Browser, etc.
  • Process Simulate essential skills.
  • TIA Portal and PLCSIM Advanced essential skills and software (trials may be available).

Course Schedule

The Tecnomatix Process Simulate Virtual Commissioning Training is packed into 4 convenient sections:

Section 1

  • Launch project and verify signals. 
  • Review robot programs and signals. 
  • Import basic logic block for part creation. 
  • Add conveyor logic and map connections. 

Section 2

  • Configure PLCSIM Advanced connection. 
  • Export PLC tags and import them into Process Simulate. 
  • Validate PLC connection.

Section 3

  • Run PLC-connected simulation. 
  • Copy logic and connect signals. 
  • Test resource motion via PLC. 

Section 4

  • Create part consumption logic. 
  • Introduction to AGV, define destinations and routes. 
  • Optional: Load Fanuc robot backup. 
  • Optional: Introduction to Safety Robots Manager.
